To Cat or Not to Cat?

Seems these days you can't get away from anything Cataclysm. Not that I would want to mind you :)

However it begs the question....How much do you really want to know?

I am terribly torn. This year I decided I wanted to spend more time making a difference in the community, doing something. I began blogging more seriously (well, except for lately; blame work :P), and I started helping a podcast with their wiki. How much help I'm actually being is left to be said at the moment since I have given them about as much time as my housecleaning. Which is to say, slim at best. So my thoughts turn to what can I do ingame that would make a difference.
Living in Florida and far from California, getting a job is more or less out of the question. So the next best thing is the PTR and the Beta. There I can test the new things and give my opinions and feel like I'm lending the proverbial helping hand.
So far I suck at it. I have not joined the PTR once. Yea I'm a slacker...or really, I'd rather play my current toons and play with my friends, then play with total strangers that might point and laugh at me.
I have not yet made up my mind about the Beta but I'm getting closer and closer to going to Blizzard.com and setting up my opt in features. Currently, there are more reasons why I shouldn't then why I should. But I've always been a rebel. ;)

In the mean time, there is all this information floating around out there, and yes I've taken a peek or two. I dove head first into all the class previews that Blizz posted on the Cataclysm forums and have taken to checking out the screenshot of the day. I picked through some of the pics and info on MMO Champ but I take all that with a grain of salt. I don't like the way they do things and I'm surprised every time when they come up with what they do and still have a website and their pants.

In the end I know I will be moving through this content over and over. Do I really want to add another time? My first time? Do I want to blow that awesome factor when I first experience it by doing it with total strangers?! And answering questions about it?

I still don't quite know if I'm willing to go that route but I'm going to go do the opt in anyway and see what happens. I may change my mind. I don't know if I'd mind going through the leveling content and the starter areas to see how that plays. I'm addicted to 1-20 anyway.

Maybe I'll see ya there. :)
